Vampfangs Is Serious About Contact Lens Safety
Scott Smiledge, owner and founder of Vampfangs / 321FX Studios and Eye Ink FX is now a proud member of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts.
Vampfangs is also actively looking to recruit local opticians to work with us to help promote contact lens safety and to educate the public on illegal contact lenses found in stores and on the internet.
Things you need to know about contact lenses:
1) There is NO SUCH THING as a one size fit all lens! Everyone's eye are different! A lens that fits you poorly can cause permanent eye damage.
2) If the company selling you lenses does not verify with your eye doctor they are selling them illegally! Even non corrective lenses ( plano ) are considered a medical device by the FDA. Without approval from your eye care professional the sale is illegal.
3) Where did they get the lenses? Are they familiar with the factory? The lens material? Most resellers of lenses are looking for a fast buck. Vampfangs sends reps to the factory. We triple check that they are FDA regulated and legal to sell.
4) Are they really FDA Approved? We have seen illegal lenses hit the market with the FDA logo printed on them to trick people into thinking they are safe. We have even heard that some of these foreign companies are using recycled lens material and solution that is not sterile.
We know you can get lenses online for $30 off of some of these fly by night stores. But do you know anything about them? Does the store know anything about them? We 100% make sure that we know everything about our products. We want to make sure we offer the safest, most comfortable contacts anywhere.
